East NOLA Business Development District (East NOLA BDD) Launches 'The EAST' Magazine

 The EAST, produced by Renaissance Publishing, is a full-color, glossy print publication that features businesses and organizations as well as a directory that lists thousands of businesses in East New Orleans.  The publication provides vital information on the region, featuring economic and new business development, and the advantages of doing business as well as living in East New Orleans.

East New Orleans, host to major neighborhoods, hospitals, top charter schools, parks and the Lakefront Airport, is a fast-growing region in terms of population, business, real estate opportunities and jobs.

Businesses are encouraged to join the East NOLA BDD and be included in future editions of the directory, which is an excellent opportunity to promote their companies, products and services to residents, businesses and professional decision makers in and around Greater New Orleans.  The directory is only one of the many benefits of an East NOLA BDD membership.  Other benefits of membership include networking with fellow business owners, free promotional and marketing E-blasts, discounted advertising opportunities and acknowledgement at events.

The magazine launch reception is free and open to the public, but reservations must be made at enolabdd@gmail.com.

* WHAT A BLAST! *

New Orleans East's residents, friends and supporters  - decked out in linen - all had a great time socializing and inspecting the new Audubon Nature Center and Planetarium. YES! The long awaited planetarium is back - better than ever!.  Attendees were treated to a sampling of trailers for upcoming presentations. The food was great, the music was great, we think this event is a keeper! Should we do it again in the Spring? Let us know your thoughts.

TOPIC OF DISCUSSION:
Rebuilding Frenchman's Wharf

REBUILDING
THE EAST

Join Councilwoman Cyndi Nguyen in a conversation about the possibilities in redeveloping the former site of Frenchman's Wharf Apartments. Come share your opinions on how this major site could change the landscape as a mixed-use development of retail, office space, condominiums, rentals and housing for seniors. This will be the first in a series of community-wide discussions on the future of New Orleans East.

THE EAST

Magazine Release Party

Folgers Coffee was our gracious host for the 2018 Winter-Spring edition release of THE EAST magazine. A big part of New Orleans East since 1960, Folgers now plays an even larger role employing approximately 650 people throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area. Providing steady jobs and a major economic impact, to many area residents, indeed Folgers is "the best part of waking up".
